In the true spirit of nourishment, we have launched The 5-5-5 Flip-Flop Feeding Fiesta campaign. For every pair of Flip-Flops sold, 5 children in Thailand will be fed for 1 day. We are partnering with Green Coop Thailand to provide Fair Trade jasmine rice to children in rural villages. Part of Feelgoodz’ mission is to giveback to the country that has fostered our success. From extraction to fabrication, our flip-flops are wholly manufactured in Thailand. Why Jasmine Rice?
Rice is Thailand’s primary agricultural crop and one of its largest exported goods. Therefore, we are not only assisting to resolve the hunger issue, but supporting the local economy as well. Feelgoodz is off to Thailand in the next week to donate the jasmine rice as well as to visit various rubber farms that contribute to our flip-flop production. In visiting our rubber suppliers we will begin moving forward to become a fair trade rubber trading company or co-op. At Feelgoodz the wellbeing of each and every person involved in the creation of our product is extremely important, which is why the safety and wages of the farmers and craftsman involved must be honorable. While in Thailand we are meeting with the leaders of Ashoka Thailand and TransFair Thailand who will assist us in becoming fair trade certified.
After we become a fair trade company, we can confidently claim to be a social entrepreneurship in every aspect of our business from the ground up. Feelgoodz operates its business through the triple bottom-line model of People, Planet, Profit. Our means of production is another example of the methods in which we co-exist with the planet and perform responsible business practices. Every step in the production process of our flip-flops aligns with the health of the planet, from extraction, to disposal (our flip-flops are %100 biodegradable).
